Personal protective equipment (PPE) is considered to be any equipment designed and manufactured to be worn or held by a person for protection against one or more risks to that person's health or safety. In Europe, placing PPE products on the market is regulated by the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. This applies to most safety products intended for use in leisure and sports activities, as well as for professional use.
SGS offers CE and UKCA certification services for PPE in line with current PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and all current (UKCA) 2016/425 regulations. We work in collaboration with partner Notified Body SGS Fimko Oy to ensure we provide the best comprehensive certification services for CE and UKCA. We also provide UKNI certification but this is not a requirement under the current regulations.
