The Food Standards Agency's Push for Allergen Labeling: A Game Changer for Loose Foods

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing food safety by advocating for mandatory written allergen labelling on non-prepacked foods, such as foods sold in cafes and restaurants. Whilst this does not go as far as the calls by the 'Owen’s Law' campaign, for allergen information to be included on the face of a business’s main menu, it is a major step forward for the hospitality industry. Currently, under the Food Information to Consumers (FIC) Regulation No. 1169/2011, allergen information for non-prepacked food can be provided by any means including orally or in a written format, either on a menu or notice.

SGS Offers UK Assessment Service for Revised 2024 General Product Safety Regulation

The General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC has been revised to update and modernize the general framework for the safety of non-food consumer products. With the transition to the new regulation currently in progress, SGS has announced a new assessment service for the new General Product Safety Regulation. This includes product safety assessments (for products which fall into the scope of Article 9.2) and product risk assessments (for products outside the scope of Article 9.2).

When was the new General Product Safety Regulation published?

The European Union published the Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on General Product Safety in the Official Journal of May 23, 2023. The new regulation replaces and repeals the General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC and 87/357/EEC, and amends Regulation (EU) 1025/2012 and Directive 2020/1828.

The General Product Safety Regulation entered into force on June 13, 2023. There will be an 18-month transition period before the new regulation is applied on December 13, 2024.

What is the aim of the regulation?

The General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC preserves its role as a safety net for consumers and ensuring a level-playing field for businesses. The publication is now a regulation, rather than a directive and imposes clear and detailed rules without risks of divergent transposition by Member States.

The General Product Safety Directive has been key to ensuring the safety of consumer products. However, it has been noted that too many products that do not comply with the current safety requirements are still circulating on the EU market. In addition to essential safety problems, this has proved costly for consumers and society, including health costs due to product-related accidents and additional costs relating to the circulation of dangerous products.

As a result, the following concerns needed to be addressed:

Challenges linked to new technology
Challenges related to the growth of online sales
Complex market surveillance rules
Potential lack of efficacy in recalling unsafe products from consumers
Inconsistency of application for safety rules for food-imitating products across the EU
Aligning provisions on standardization with relevant regulation

Problems are also expected to increase over time, due to increasing globalization and digitalization.

The change in regulation applies to products placed or made available on the European market, whether new, used, repaired or reconditioned, especially if there are no specific provisions with the same objective of safety under Union law.

What does the new regulation update?

The General Product Safety Regulation introduces several key updates:

Definition of “Economic Operator”: clarifies roles (manufacturers, representatives, importers, distributors, service providers) with compliance obligations for product safety and market access. Non-EU companies must designate an EU-based responsible person for imports, highlighting the importance for online sales
Addressing new hazards: focuses on risks from new technologies, such as cybersecurity threats, and updates rules and definitions for software
Enhanced enforcement and surveillance: promotes better compliance and surveillance by mandating the Safety Business Gateway for accident reporting and information exchange. It also introduces arbitration for risk assessment disputes, and establishes the “Consumer Safety Network” for coordinated action
Online sales challenges: imposes responsibilities on online marketplaces for registration, traceability, safety information, and cooperation with authorities, aligning online and offline sales requirements
Effective product recalls: sets guidelines for consumer awareness on recalls, including direct notifications and use of the Safety Gate Portal to boost recall effectiveness
Safety of food-imitating products: integrates the assessment of food-imitating product safety, repealing the directive 85/357/EEC and covering child-appealing products
Standardizing procedures: introduces safety requirements under the GPSR procedure, the concept of “European Standard drafted in support of regulation,” and mandates the publication of these standards

These updates aim to improve product safety, address modern technological challenges, and ensure a unified approach to market surveillance and consumer protection.

How can SGS help?

Our new assessment service is available exclusively in the UK to help ensure product compliance with the new General Product Safety Regulation.

For products which fall into the scope of Article 9.2, we offer a product safety assessment service, which enables producers to meet the requirements of the article.

For products which fall out of the scope of Article 9.2, we offer a product risk assessment service, which can be used to meet the “reasonable foreseeable use“ requirement for product safety. This is particularly important for products for which there is no harmonized standard, or relevant national standard.

EN 71 Toy Standards to be Revised in 2025: How SGS can Help

Due to a standardisation request, nearly all EN 71 toy standards and EN 62115 will be revised in 2025. In order to keep you up to date, we will regularly publish the status of projects and published standards.

The standardisation request is a new way to define the work program for standardisation bodies CEN/CENELEC. The agreement between the EU commission and CEN/CENELEC was signed in October 2022.

The deadline for the adoption of new and revised standards is October 25, 2025. Due to this nearly all EN 71 standards and EN 62115 will be revised and published in 2025.

In order to keep you up to date we will regularly publish an overview.

Explanation of terminology:

• Project: Ongoing work and voting procedures in CEN
• Published CEN: Agreed and published by CEN, but not yet Harmonized. Standard is available, but does not yet provide presumption of conformity with the legislation, the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC
• Harmonized: Accepted by the EU Commission and member states and published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU). Standards provide presumption of conformity with the legislation

Approved as an Amazon TIC Direct Validation Organization for Toy Sellers

We are pleased to announce that we have been approved as an Amazon Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) Direct Validation body, supporting businesses in navigating and complying with Amazon’s updated requirements for toy sellers.

Amazon has recently introduced an important new policy for the toys category, requiring that product compliance is validated directly through an Amazon-approved TIC body under the Direct Validation program. This requirement applies to all Amazon marketplaces in the United States, Canada and Europe.

Toy sellers can no longer upload compliance documents through Seller Central and must now adapt their compliance workflows, selecting a professional, efficient, Amazon-approved TIC organization to complete the validation process.

Impact on sellers

If validation is approved, the product will remain eligible for sale on Amazon without further action
If validation is not completed or the product is non-compliant, the product may be removed and delisted

What is TIC Direct Validation?

The Direct Validation mechanism strengthens product safety and regulatory compliance. Products in designated categories must undergo direct validation through an Amazon-approved TIC organization.

All testing and validation results are submitted directly to Amazon by the TIC
Sellers can no longer upload compliance documents

TIC direct validation workflow

Sellers initiate a test request in Seller Central: Performance → Account Health → Policy Compliance → Verify Your Products
Assigned TIC contacts the seller to schedule testing or to validate existing test reports
Once testing/validation is completed, the TIC submits the results directly to Amazon (files can no longer be uploaded by the seller)

Ivory Coast Product Conformity Assessment Contract Renewed for Five Years

Since July 1, 2019, we have conducted conformity assessments for regulated materials and products under the MCI program. Our services include:

New Technical Inspection Report for Detergents Imported to Kuwait

The Kuwait Public Authority for Industry (PAI) has officially implemented a Technical Inspection Report (TIR) requirement for all imported detergents and household synthetic detergents from January 1 , 2025, signaling a significant shift in regulatory oversight for the sector.

The move, enforced by the PAI, aims to enhance product safety, environmental compliance, and consumer protection. Under the new regulation, all detergent imports must pass stringent testing for chemical composition, biodegradability, and labeling accuracy before receiving clearance for entry into the Kuwaiti market.

What is the definition of a detergent?

Any material or mixture or solution consisting of soap and/or any other active substances in the form of (powder, liquid, paste, bars, mold) for washing and cleaning, a water-soluble cleansing agent which combines with impurities and dirt to make them more soluble.

A detergent is a surfactant or a mixture of surfactants with cleansing properties which is different to a surfactant or surface-active agent. A surfactant is a chemical which lowers the surface tension. Each surfactant molecule has a hydrophilic or water loving component and a hydrophobic or water- fearing component.

Authorities emphasize that the measure aligns with GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) guidelines, ensuring imported cleaning products meet regional safety benchmarks. Industry insiders anticipate short-term disruptions as suppliers adjust to the new compliance framework. However, market experts view this as a step toward higher quality standards and greater consumer confidence in household and industrial cleaning products.

Navigating the Transition from IEC 60079-11 Ed.6 to Ed.7

IEC 60079-11 is the international standard that defines the design, construction, and testing requirements for intrinsically safe (IS) equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres. The publication of Edition 7 (Ed.7) in January 2023 marks a significant update from Edition 6 (Ed.6), with many changes likely to impact IS equipment design and compliance.

Unlike typical revisions that focus on incremental updates, Ed.7 represents a major reworking of the standard. The extensive rewrite makes it difficult to summarize all the technical changes concisely, and as such, careful review and interpretation are essential.

Overview of key changes

Edition 7 includes a foreword table listing 173 changes compared to Edition 6. These changes fall into three broad categories:

Minor and editorial changes (52 changes): these updates clarify existing requirements, often where Edition 6 was interpreted inconsistently. While not intended to introduce new technical obligations, in practice, some designs that complied with Ed.6 may require updates to meet Ed.7
Extensions (76 changes): these additions include new or revised requirements that offer alternative compliance options. While not invalidating existing assessments, the new wording may impact the interpretation of prior certifications. A thorough review is recommended to ensure continued compliance
Major technical changes (45 changes): these are significant updates that elevate the technical expectations of the standard. Changes in this category often require design modifications and additional testing. Key examples include:
- Batteries, cells, and supercapacitors: test requirements have increased. Equipment compliant with Ed.6 will require retesting under Ed.7 protocols
- Encapsulation and conformal coatings: Now subject to routine verification, with stricter requirements for materials
- Catalytic Sensors: prohibited for Group IIC applications under Ed.7, requiring an alternative type of protection for the sensor

Due to these changes, a comprehensive gap analysis is essential to help manufacturers understand the implications for both existing and new products.

Equivalent EN standard

The European version, EN IEC 60079-11:2024, was published in December 2024. However, it is not yet harmonized under the ATEX Directive due to missing annexes. Harmonization is currently expected by December 2025.

Until then, compliance with EN 60079-11:2012 remains valid. However, this version is expected to be de-harmonized by December 2027, after which only equipment certified to the new edition will be considered compliant for ATEX.

Big Changes Ahead for CBAM: What Importers Need to Know

The European Commission has announced significant changes to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), aimed at reducing administrative burdens for importers while maintaining the system’s climate objectives. The proposals, part of the broader ‘Omnibus’ package, are expected to benefit thousands of companies across the EU, especially smaller importers.

Raising the threshold: a fairer approach for small importers

One of the most impactful proposals is the plan to increase the CBAM threshold. Currently set at €150 per shipment, this threshold has proven disproportionately demanding for smaller importers. The proposed increase would exempt up to 80% of currently affected businesses – those whose emissions and import volumes are relatively low – without weakening the environmental effectiveness of CBAM.

The Dutch Emissions Authority (NEa) supports this development, particularly if a more practical weight-based threshold replaces the current value-based one. This would make compliance clearer and more proportionate, focusing CBAM obligations on those with substantial CO₂ emissions.

Simplifications in the omnibus proposal

In addition to the new threshold, the European Commission has introduced a range of proposed simplifications, including:

Exemption for small importers: companies importing under 50 tons of CBAM goods per year would be fully exempt from CBAM obligations. This could exclude up to 90% of importers while still covering 99% of total emissions
Streamlined monitoring: easier use of standard values, removing the need for verification of emissions data
Simplified cost tracking: no need to separately collect data on carbon prices already paid
Flexible certificate requirements: the quarterly obligation to surrender 80% of certificates would be reduced to 50%
Advisors allowed: importers may appoint advisors to handle CBAM declarations on their behalf

Upcoming obligations and key dates

From January 1, 2026, only companies approved as a CBAM declarant will be allowed to import CBAM goods into the EU. Applications for this status must be submitted via the new European CBAM register:

NEa has begun reviewing applications since 1 May 2025
A helpdesk and detailed application guide is now available
Submit your full application now to be approved in time for 2026

If your company imports less than 50 tons of CBAM goods per year, NEa advises waiting until September to apply. This avoids unnecessary paperwork in case the exemption is officially adopted.

Preparing for the UK’s New Vaping Duty: Why Businesses Need to Act Now

As the UK prepares to introduce a new Vaping Products Duty in 2026, we are helping businesses get ahead with expert excise support and our powerful e-Customs platform.

The vaping industry is entering a new regulatory era. With excise duty, monthly returns and duty stamps all becoming mandatory, businesses will need to adapt quickly. Those who prepare now will be best placed to navigate the transition smoothly.

Why this matters now

The Vaping Products Duty (VPD) will significantly impact compliance for manufacturers, importers, warehouse keepers and retailers. It brings vaping liquids (including nicotine-free blends) into the scope of excise controls, with duty charged at a single flat rate of £2.20 per 10ml and a new Vaping Duty Stamp (VDS) required on retail packaging.

The introduction of the VPD is a phased change with legal enforcement dates that businesses cannot afford to miss. Planning and systems take time to bed in, so the preparatory window in 2026 is critical.

The key milestones (at a glance)

From April 1, 2026, approvals open: any business intending to manufacture vaping products in the UK will be required to secure HMRC approval for VPD and the associated Duty Stamps Scheme. Reviews can take several weeks, so it is advisable to submit applications as early as possible
From October 1, 2026, duty and stamps become mandatory: vaping products released for sale or supplied in the UK must have the correct excise duty paid and a duty stamp affixed to every retail pack. Without both in place, products cannot be lawfully placed on the market. VAT continues to apply as normal
From April 1, 2027, full compliance is expected: when the grace period ends, any vaping products outside of duty suspension (see below) must carry a duty stamp. Penalties, seizure or prosecution may occur for businesses found with unstamped stock

What changes operationally

Behind the headline dates, the VPD brings a series of practical changes that will affect how businesses manufacture, store and move vaping products.

Record keeping

The new duty brings vaping products firmly into the same excise framework that already applies to alcohol and tobacco. That means businesses will need to be authorized by HMRC, keep detailed production, movement and financial records, and submit monthly duty returns. Returns will be due by the 7th of each month, with payment required by the 15th (or via an approved deferment account).

Duty suspension

For manufacturers and importers, the option of duty suspension will also become a valuable tool. Products stored in approved facilities, such as excise warehouses, can remain under suspension, with the duty only paid when those goods are released for supply in the UK. Once products are packaged for retail, movements under suspension are tightly restricted, therefore, careful planning will be essential.

Vaping duty stamps

A major new feature is the introduction of vaping duty stamps. These highly secure labels must seal retail packaging and, from October 2026, will serve as visible proof that duty has been paid. The stamps will also carry a digital element, such as a QR code, which must be scanned at designated points in the supply chain to create an auditable trail. HMRC has confirmed that a transitional physical stamp will be available before the full digital feature is rolled out.

Overseas manufacturers supplying the UK

Finally, overseas manufacturers seeking to supply the UK market face their own set of requirements. In most cases, they will need to appoint a UK representative who can obtain duty stamps and ensure that products are compliant before they leave customs control. Importers without such arrangements must make sure stamping takes place in the UK before products can be lawfully sold.

The removal of pre notification requirements for low risk plant and plant products from the EU
Introduce pre-notification requirements for EU sanitary and phytosanitary goods that enter Great Britain via West Coast port
The introduction of health certification on imports from the EU of high risk food and feed of non-animal origin
The introduction of new checks and controls when moving Irish goods (i.e. any goods other than qualifying Northern Irish goods) from Irish ports directly to Great Britain

As the EU rolls out its new Import Control System 2 (ICS2), we are ready to support businesses navigating the evolving customs landscape through our powerful e-Customs services.

The next phase of the ICS2 rollout, covering road and rail movements, was initially planned for September 2025. While its implementation has now been postponed in some countries to an

unconfirmed date, the requirements are coming, and businesses need to prepare or in some scenarios, be ready on September 1, 2025.

Our e-Customs services, which include specialist software, have been developed to help businesses submit accurate customs declarations and comply with the new ICS2 requirements once enforcement begins.

What is changing with ICS2?

ICS2 is the EU's enhanced pre-arrival security and risk assessment system. When fully implemented, all goods entering or transiting through the EU must be covered by an Entry Summary Declaration (ENS), whether the transit is by road, rail, air or sea.

This updated protocol, which requires all goods to be pre-declared, has been implemented to bolster supply chain security, facilitate risk assessment and keep trade flowing smoothly.

This final phase of the ICS2 rollout completes the transition from the older ICS1 system and extends the requirements to goods moved by road and rail, aligning them with other transport modes. While the go-live date for all countries is still to be confirmed, businesses that move goods across EU borders will soon need to meet these stricter data requirements or risk delays, rejections or penalties.

Understanding Saudi cosmetic product regulations

The SFDA mandates that all products must be safe and comply with specific technical requirements before entering the Kingdom. The cornerstone of this process is the consignment certificate of conformity (CoC).

The CoC program safeguards both consumers and the national market by ensuring all imported cosmetics, personal care and perfumery products meet SFDA safety and quality standards.

Products must comply with requirements in the following technical regulations and any additional circulars and notifications issued by the SFDA:

ISO 22716 – Good Manufacturing Practices for Cosmetics

Consignment inspection requirements

Inspection activities include:

Onsite verification of the SFDA/GHAD registration number, ensuring the shipped product matches the approved version in the SFDA system
Physical inspection of the product, packaging and labeling to confirm alignment with technical documentation
Verification that the consignment complies with applicable regulations and clearance conditions
Sample collection and testing, when required, under a verified chain of custody
Inspection of transportation and containers to ensure safety, compliance, seal integrity and prevent tampering

B. Newly restricted substances

On August 14, 2025, the SFDA issued a circular adding three substances to its restricted ingredients list, setting new concentration limits. From January 1, 2026, importing or manufacturing non-compliant products will be prohibited. However, a grace period allows products already on the market to be sold until January 1, 2028, while compliance is achieved.

C. Newly prohibited substances

On September 7, 2025, the SFDA expanded its prohibited substances list to include 21 new ingredients, such as dibutyltin maleate, dibutyltin oxide, 4-nitrosomorpholine and 4-methylimidazole. This update aligns Saudi regulations with global safety standards and requires immediate reformulation and compliance reviews.

TEMA LNG SELECTS SGS TO INSPECT THEIR NEW FLOATING REGASIFICATION UNIT (FRU) IN SHANGHAI

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tema LNG Terminal Company (TLTC) was unable to enter China to undertake an owner’s review of its new Floating Regasification Unit (FRU) prior to the vessel’s release from the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai. To avoid costly project delays, TLTC engaged SGS to undertake the final review on their behalf.

A VITAL PART OF THE TEMA LNG PROJECT

The Tema LNG project is sub-Saharan Africa’s first offshore LNG-receiving terminal. Once operational, the project will connect Ghana and the West African region to the global LNG market, giving local economies and industries access to a cheaper, more reliable and cleaner source of energy.

The new FRU, an essential part of the project, will be equipped with two 14,000 cu m type-C cargo tanks and have a regasification capacity of 335 tons per hour.

SGS HELPS AVOID PROJECT DELAYS WITH GLOBAL INSPECTIONS

Before the vessel could be cleared for its final release from the shipyard, a full owner’s review inspection was required. Unable to conduct the inspection due to COVID-19 restrictions preventing their team from entering China, TLTC called on SGS’s global reach and inspection expertise.

With a presence in Shanghai, SGS was able to keep the project afloat by conducting a full inspection of the FRU at the Jiangnan Shipyard, including assessments of the hull, topside and all machinery.

LOCAL EXPERTISE

The SGS team in China consisted of local experts in piping, commissioning, coating, processing, mechanical, structural, electrical and control/instrumentation, who were all headed by a Team Lead. The team worked remotely with TLTC to ensure the client was fully informed of the status of all activities and timelines.

The SGS review included:

Daily status calls
Preparing, reviewing and clearing punch lists
Ensuring punch list items and matters were completed on time
Physical inspections to ensure specifications were met
Witnessing of run/functional testing of main components
Documentation review

UK Government Extends The Period It Will Continue To Accept The CE Mark Until 1 January 2023

The UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking, known as ‘new approach’ goods.

UKCA extension

The UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021. However, the UK government has bowed to industry pressure to extend the start date for the new post-Brexit certification rules for products by 12 months after being told that sticking with the intended deadline of 1 January 2022 to end recognition of the CE mark would have caused chaos across the industry.

The UKCA marking applies to most goods previously subject to the CE marking, including construction products and personal protective equipment. Under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, goods lawfully marked with the CE mark and placed on the EU market before the end of the transition period can continue to circulate until they reach their end user, whether they are in the UK or the EU.

The Customs Declaration Service (CDS) represents a significant advancement in customs declaration technology, offering streamlined workflows and enhanced functionalities for exporters. When is the switch for exports?

There is less than a month to go before all businesses need to migrate to the new system on Tuesday June 4, 2024. After this date, you will no longer be able to submit new customs declarations through CHIEF.

Will Your Weld Procedure Meet The UKCA Requirement for Pressure Equipment?

As of 1 January 2022, all pressure equipment for sale in the UK must be UKCA marked. To satisfy the criteria for UKCA qualification, weld procedures and welder qualifications must be issued by a UKCA “Approved Body”, such as SGS.

To comply with UKCA there must be a documented welding procedure qualification record (WPQR) to prove the welding process or processes proposed for use in construction can produce joints that have the required mechanical properties for the intended application.

Once the WPQR has been proven a welding procedure specification (WPS) which is a written instruction based on the variables of the WPQR is produced to ensure repeatability during production by the qualified welding personnel.

A Welder Qualification Test (WQT) is carried out to prove the welder has the ability to manually manipulate the electrode / welding torch to produce welds of an acceptable quality.

SGS is here to help you with your WPQR and WQT requirements.

We are a Type A inspection body, providing full WPQR and welder qualification service. We are also a Recognised Third Party Organisation (RTPO) from the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) which means we can conduct invigilation of weld procedure qualification records and welder qualification tests for work specifically for the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations (PESR).

Peter Skillen, Weld Manager at SGS says: “Our invigilators are available nationwide and record all data needed to provide the certification. Once welding is complete, test pieces undergo mechanical testing at our UKAS accredited laboratory. Then on completion and acceptability of the test pieces our certification personnel produce the complete certification.

To ensure continuous compliance we provide a programme for monitoring and managing qualifications and requalification of a company’s welders.”

The UK is in a grace period for CE mark performed by an EU27 Notified Body, this ends on the 1 January 2022. The time to prepare for the UKCA for pressure equipment to meet the UK regulations, is now.

The regulation applies to manufacturers (or Importers) of pressure equipment, such as vessels, tanks, boilers, pressurised systems process installations that are to be placed on the market for sale in the UK. The equipment will still need to meet the CE mark for PED if it being placed for sale in the EU.

Peru Starts ATA Carnet Operations From April 2024

Peru officially started ATA Carnet operations on April 30, 2024. This makes Peru the third country in Latin America, after Chile and Mexico, to accept the use of ATA Carnets for temporary admission of goods. The scope of acceptance includes professional equipment and goods to be displayed or used at exhibitions, fairs and similar events.

SGS eCustoms welcomes this extension to the ATA Carnet scheme, which like other countries already operating with ATA Carnets, provides an additional customs facilitation for businesses who visit overseas markets.

Create ATA Carnet applications quickly and easily with SGS eCert

SGS eCert has been enabled for applications for ATA Carnet’s to Peru from April 30, in addition to the existing available countries. ATA Carnet applications are quickly and easily created using SGS eCert, by simply following the system guidance to complete the required information and either typing or uploading your general list of goods items. Once submitted, the ATA Carnet is received and swiftly processed, including authorization stamps, then delivered back to the trader ready to use, in either physical or digital form.

Extending the number of territories in the scheme

In addition to Peru, major progress to advance ATA Carnets has also been made in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. Dates to launch these services will be confirmed later this year, extending the number of territories in the scheme to 82. Additionally, Digital Carnets (eATA) are undergoing continued testing in parallel with manual Carnets, marking a significant step forward in the digitization of international trade and supply chains.

Exporting Food to Qatar?

Implemented and monitored by the Food Safety Department of Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH-FSD), the Conformity Assessment of Food Scheme requires certification for all regulated product consignments imported into the country.

As an MoPH-FSD-approved body, we are able to provide certification of all regulated consignments destined for Qatar from global locations. We can assess the conformity of restricted products against applicable Qatari technical standards, offering comprehensive and efficient solutions to accelerate a products’ route to market while ensuring quality and safety and reducing potential losses.

How to achieve certification

Exporters to Qatar are required to apply for a CoC for all consignments from an approved certification body. The CoC must be presented along with the mandated documentary prerequisites for corresponding shipments.
